Catamount Community Radio - February 8, 2009

Shrek, Angelina Jolie, and Brad Pitt are sitting around one day at one of those Hollywood parties. Suddenly Shrek says, "You know, I think I'm the strongest one of all."

"I wouldn't doubt it," says Brad Pitt.

"That's probably right," Says Angelina Jolie.

Then Angelina Jolie says, "and I am probably the most beautiful woman in the world."

"I wouldn't argue with that," says Shrek.

"I believe it," adds Brad Pitt.

"And you know what?" says Mr. Pitt, "I think I'm the coolest guy in the world."

Shrek and Angelina Jolie both agree. "But how are we to verify our opinions?" asks Shrek.

Angelina Jolie says, "Well, we all have a mirror-mirror-on-the-wall at home. So let's go home and ask, and tomorrow we'll meet and talk about it."

This is what they do. The next day, here is Shrek, beaming. "It's true," he says. "I said, "Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who is the strongest of them all? Why it's you of course, said the mirror."

Angelina Jolie is also obviously very pleased with herself. "I asked: mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the most beautiful woman of all? And sure enough, the mirror that I was the most beautiful of all."

But Brad Pitt has a long face. "What's wrong, Brad?" asks Shrek.

Brad says, "I have just one question: who in the world is 'Mark Couture'?"

(Canned laughter)

I used this joke to introduce Alice Cooper's "I'm the Coolest."

I think it was a good show today: Some jazz, some calypso, some hip-hop. (MF Doom dropped a bomb, I thought I had screened that joint to be sure it was clean. It was Mr. Clean, after all.)

our friend Tony Boettcher has that Alice pic tatooed on his arm.
Sorry I missed another great show, but I did watch an old Alice Cooper concert Sunday morning!

Re: coolest

Thanks Jim, I'll try to send you a CD of one of my recent shows soon, for you to play at home on Sunday morning, or maybe at the store.

Re: coolest

And, by the way, the first time I heard Alice's "Alma mater" was at that apartment you had over on Maple Street. I remember thinking how Beatlesque it sounded.
