Jim Dandy's Clever Epigraphs

Every Sunday I look forward to getting an email from Jim Dandy after the radio show. The email will contain answers to the day's cover contest (if there was one); it will comment on the show (he dug the music, but please whisper louder) and he often tells me about what's cookin' in the castle. The emails always are followed by an epigraph, the classic version of which is

"I have the heart of a child, I keep it in a jar on my desk."

However, at one point he decided to start doing variations on the theme. You have to realize that these are more often than not contextual, that is, they refer to something we have been talking about. But they are clever enough that I think you can enjoy them, even without being familiar with the contexts that inspired them.

"I have the heart of a child, it's on my grill."

"I have the child of a cat, I keep it in a pillow on my sofa."

"I have the soul of a demon, I keep it in a jar with a hole, so it can breathe."

"I have the desk of a child, I keep it squeezed over my knees."

"I have a fart that is wild, I keep it in a box with holes on my desk."

"I have the heart of a child, it is slow cooking on a rotisserie on my desk."

"I have the heart of a wildebeest, I keep it in a cat on my lap."

"I have the poo of a child, I keep it in a nappy on my desk."

"I have the $700 billion of a nation. I keep it in a jar on my yacht."

"I have the girl from Ipanema. I keep it on a tape loop in my head."

"I have the fart of a child, I keep it in a soup on my stove."

"I have the rump of a cow, it's in a pan on my cooker."

"I have the jar of a child, and it's full of live bugs."
