Catamount Community Radio - September 15, 2019

I was looking though my CDs, seeing if I could find some fodder for the show. I don’t alphabetize my CDs, sort them by genre or anything … you might say it’s a … it’s a … free form mélange of eclectica. Or you might just say it’s mere chaos (a word with no plural). Even so, I know where certain CDs can be found without too much trouble. I ran across one that I had never listened to before: a Woody Herman anthology. He of the Thundering Herd. A dude played some pretty swinging Woody Herman tracks on WKCR a couple weeks back, so I thought, I’m going to give this disc a listen. But when I opened it up the case, there was no CD inside. I couldn’t help but think that it was perhaps symbolic of something: packaging sans product: body without soul. But sometimes an empty CD case is just an empty CD case ... or not.

Anyway, tune in to Catamount Community Radio Sunday morning, 10-12 at 90.5 FM, or streamline it on the interstate at You don’t know what you’re gonna get, but unlike that Woody Herman CD, there will be content of some sort.

Jim Dandy will be waring the metaphorical cardboard cover contest crown this week, as he edged Mary Ellen. We had a new player this week, Steve …
