Catamount Community Radio - August 24, 2014

There is a small TV in an upper corner of the studio. The last couple of weeks it has been on and tuned to CNN when I arrived on Sunday morning. Last week I turned it off. This week there was a sign saying do not turn off the television. I wonder what that is about. Frankly, it's a little bit distracting. I only played 25 tunes today, I wonder if the tunes were long, or if I just talked more than usual (I won't say too much). It was noon before I knew it, and time to head back to the office.

I was up this morning at 7:30, fresh as a .... what is one as fresh as? A daisy. That was me.

I decided to do a guitar special today, not all guitar, just some of the guitarists I like: Blind Blake, Django Reinhardt, Jospeh Spence, Jim Hall, Frank Zappa, Eddie Van Halen, Freddie King, Kaki King, Albert Collins, Bill Frisell, Marc Ribot, Juan Habichuela, Luiz Bonfá. On my promo I say, "I wrestle the airwaves away from the electric guitars and the saxophones take over." Made a slight exception today.

I also played some other stuff; wouldn't want to have complete saxophone withdrawal. Take, for example, "Too Marvelous for Words."

You're much too much
