itunes Robotic Censors
Steve Jobs doesn't like porn, but he's a little tight, or maybe greedy, so he doesn't hire human censors, he uses computer programs. So if certain words come up, they're automatically censored.
For example, I just bought a tune by the Puta Madre Brothers, whose album is called "Queso y cojones." On itunes, it's listed as "Queso y c*****s.
I'm wondering why "cojones" is censored, but not "puta," which means "whore."
Anyway, there is a verse in the Bible, Acts 26:14, which contains the phrase, "kick against the pricks."
Saul is losing his faith, and the author compares him to an ox, who resists pulling the plow (in biblical times, almost everybody was a tiller of the soil) so the farmers would prod him, with, what in King James English, was called a "prick."
But on itunes, the Bible verse would read "kick against the p****s."
A related comment: itunes computers don't know the rules of capitalization, so in the titles, the first letter of every word is capitalized, even if it is "the" or "of." That's annoying.
Not to say I'm going to quit sending them my money. The truth is that downloading MP3's for free is starting to scare me. I feel like somebody is going to round me up and send me to jail. So, for the most part, I've quit downloading them.
