Why I Stopped Reading

It's simple. I couldn't get to the next line. I always enjoyed reading, chopping the lines off one-by-one, the thickness of the pages in my left hand gradually increasing; the pages in my right, diminuendo to zero.

But one day, I try to go to the next line, but it's impossible; I'm redirected to the line I just read. I can't move forward; I'm stuck:

This is just too complicated, I told myself, so I quit reading. Now I watch TV.
