Today, B had the high score with one out of three. The reigning champion, Jim Dandy, struck out! (I threw him one screwball, one curve, and a slider). I guess it was a hard one. The answers:

1. Question: Which Hollywood cowboy recorded "It Makes No Difference Now," covered here by Ray Charles? Answer: Gene Autry

2. Question: Who wrote this song ("Edith and the Kingpin"), interpreted here beautifully by Tina Turner? Answer: Joni Mitchell

3. Question: Who wrote this song ("It's Alright Ma, I'm only Bleeding") covered here by Caetano Veloso. Answer: Bob Dylan

Caetano Veloso

My play by play

Well, as I admitted, I had no idea on #1 so took a wild stab with Roy Rogers. On #2, I was undeniably stumped so I guessed Dale Evans (Roy's wife), just to be silly. On #3, I actually new the answer but couldn't resist following the pattern with Trigger. (Roy's horse)
My motto is, "If you can't dazzle 'em with brillience, Baffle 'em with bullshit!"
I enjoy the quiz being more challenging like this. Smarty pants or not, it's always fun! Good job, Mark.

Re: My play by play

As an afterthought...had I been paying closer attention, I may have gotten #2. Didn't you play another version of that song in a contest some weeks ago, wherein I did guess it correctly?

Re: My play by play

OK, I had to dig deep but I found it in your July 13 show.
Song #13. Tina Turner & Herbie Hancock – Edith and the Kingpin.
Phew, now I can rest easy knowing I'm still a smartypants! haha
