Boxing Nonsense

In the first fight of the evening, José Tequila took on Jim Bourbon. It was an interesting fight, with Bourbon dominating the first rounds before Tequila came on strong in the middle rounds. It wasn’t enough though, as the Kentucky Kid won by decision after coming back in the final rounds.

The second fight on the docket matched Keith Stone against Ringo Beatle. I have to say that not a lot of punches were thrown. Ringo took advantage of his time in the bright lights to clown around, while Keith went to the canvas once without even being struck by a punch. Ringo Beatle was declared the winner in the third round, when Keith Stone failed to answer the bell.

In the third fight of the evening Cod (“the fish that changed the world”) took on Trout Mask Replica. It was a short bout, with Cod scoring easily and often against Trout. The match was called after the second round when Trout, instead of answering the bell, sat in his corner spouting free-association poetry in a gravelly voice.

The final fight of the evening matched Tastes Great against Less Filling. It was a highly anticipated bout, and although there were many Less Filling supporters in the arena, they were helpless to stop the pummeling that Tastes Great gave poor Less Filling. Tastes Great defended his title of Boxing Champion of the World for the ninth time, and admittedly, the belt looks good on him.
